If it all goes according to plan power outage and insecurity will soon be history in the Tiko municipality. This is the outcome of a meeting convened by the mayor of the Tiko Council, Chief Peter Ikome Mesoso 111 that took place at the Tiko Council on Wednesday 31st July 2024 .
The meeting that was attended by the close collaborators of the mayor, we gathered, was aimed at drawing up strategies for the installation of solar panels in the municipality. We gathered that in the course of deliberations, Mayor Peter Ikome Mesoso 111 and his close collaborators brainstormed and earmarked some major neighbourhoods that will benefit from the solar panel installations.
We observe that Tiko like some major areas of the South West Region, has been suffering from excruciating power outages, due to frequent power cuts. Observers say the installation of solar panels, apart from ensuring regular power supply would also curb insecurity.
