Prof. Prosper Nkou Mvondo who gave Cabral Libii an opportunity to stand as presidential candidate on the ticket of his Univers party in 2018 is now offering that opportunity to political scientist Charlemagne Nyamding Messanga.
Nyamding Messanga who was dismissed from the CPDM some three years ago for anti-psrty activities, has however rejected the offer, saying he does not want to abandon Biyaism, is one of the creators he is.
“This is an old debate I had with my brother and friend Messanga Nyamding. He came to Ngaoundéré, I welcomed him, and during this visit, we had a conversation. I told him to simply announce that he is no longer a ‘Biyaist,’ to renounce his support for President Biya, and I would make him the candidate for the 2025 presidential election on behalf of the Univers party. We agree on many things, but the only thing we disagree on is his commitment to Biyaism, which, in my opinion, makes no sense,” declared Professor Nkou Mvondo on Vision 4’s program Club d’Elites.
“I received a letter from the political bureau of the Univers party, of which he [Prosper Nkou Mvondo] is the national president, signed on June 4, 2021, where out of affection and even ideological attachment, he proposed that I take the lead of the party and especially a nomination [for the presidential election]… I told him that it is not possible for me to abandon Biyaism,” responded the Biyayist.
