Robert Kona: Politician or merchant?
Hon Cabral Libii seems to be having the last laugh in the PCRN Affair. The project of Robert Kona and Atanga Nji to oust him from the helm of the party seems to be sinking.
The lawyers of Cabral Libii and Robert Kona once again appeared before judicial authorities to follow up on Kona’s request to annul the congress during which Cabral was elected president of the PCRN.
Libii’s lawyers are confident of a favorable outcome for their client.
“The Parti Camerounais pour la RéconciliationNationale (PCRN), through its National President, the Honorable Cabral LIBII, informs its members and supporters that the procedure initiated by Mr. Kona Robert to annul the Guidiguis congress of May 11, 2019, which brought Mr.
Cabral LIBII LI NGUE NGUE to the head of the Party, resumed this morning before the Court of First Instance of Kaélé for the parties’ observations on the Public Prosecutor’s submissions filed at the last hearing. There, Mr. Kona Robert’s counsel submitted their written observations and, curiously, requested the court to communicate the file to the Public Prosecutor a second time for further submissions,” they wrote in a statement.
“Judging this request incongruous and clearly presented for purely dilatory purposes, the undersigned PCRN counsel firmly opposed it and requested that the case be deliberated. Validating this position of the PCRN counsel, the court rejected Mr. Kona’s counsel’s request and set the case for deliberation to render its decision on September 5, 2024. The National President, the Honorable Cabral Libii, already congratulates the Justice system for handling this case and commits to respecting the forthcoming judgment, whatever it may be. He once again urges his members and supporters to trust in this justice system,” they added in the statement.
