Ahead of the resumption of the next school year in September, the Mayor of the Kumba 1 Subdivisional Council with headquarters at Njuki, Prince Barrister Eseme Moses Esembe, has embarked on major renovation projects at Government Practicing School GPS Kumba Town, to ensure a comfortable and conducive learning environment for the pupils , The Horizon has been informed.
In order to transform the learning environment for the pupils, ahead of the new school year in September, Mayor Eseme Moses Esembe, we gathered, has embarked on replacing the dilapidated roofs of the institution as well as the ceiling boards. Mayor Eseme Moses Esembe will also renovate the blackboards, the floors, the lighting system of a complete block of the institution and three classrooms.
According to the mayor, all these renovations are aimed “to ensure a comfortable and conducive place of learning and a fresh and inviting atmosphere for pupils”. The renovation, we have equally been informed, will create additional space and also accommodate more pupils.
The Horizon observes that GPS Kumba Town has more than four groups, with some of the pupils being IDPs from other parts of Meme Division and beyond as a result of the ongoing eight years and counting Anglophone crisis’.
