The President of the Cameroon Human Rights Commission, Prof James Mouangue Kobila, has promised to advocate the settlement of land grabbing issues in the South West Region by Cameroon Human Rights Commission.
“ I will like to let all the Indigenous peoples, Indigenous Communities gathered here that I acknowledge their tears, their difficulties and that I will conduct Advocacy towards relevant authorities in order for those issues especially land issues to be handled with the Human Rights perfectly, “ he said.
The CHRC boss was speaking during celebration of Homeland Fallen Heroes in Limbe on Saturday August 10th, 2024.
The fallen Heroes of Homeland ( ancestors ) fought relentlessly for the abolishment of Slavery, the independence of the nation amongst others. Some of the great men who fought relentlessly for the nation from the Southwest Region are: William Mbile Manga, Sone D. Manga, and Ako Mukete.
The ceremony which saw massive attendance of Traditional rulers of Fako, Ndian, Kupe Manenguba, Manyu, Meme, Lebialem, Wouri amongst others was animated by beautiful Indigenous songs in memory of the Fallen Heroes of Homeland.
Aside from that, the ceremony equally saw brief messages on the fallen heroes in the Mother Tongue by the Traditional Rulers of Balong, Mboko, and Isanguele.
HRM John Elufa Manga Williams, the Paramount Ruler of Limbe, while extending a message of gratitude to His Excellency Paul Biya, the President of Cameroon for his unwavering commitment to the National Heroes, promised to support the Head of State in the accomplishment of his functions.
“ Assures His Excellency that we the traditional Rulers are solidly behind him in the execution of his functions which is aimed at promoting good health, wisdom and prosperity”, he promised.
The inhabitants of the South West Region, and Cameroon in general after this ceremony are expected emulate the good examples set by their Homeland Fallen Heroes.
