The Administrator of the World Bank Group for Cameroon, Abdou Salam Bello, was received in an audience on Monday by the Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, Alamine Ousmane Mey.
This personality of the world financial institution is on a working visit in
Cameroon and met with the Minister to discuss the stakes of the partnership between the World Bank Group and Cameroon.
“Today with the Minister of Economy we had the occasion to talk about the state of the cooperation between the World Bank Group and Cameroon on various points. As you know, the board of directors just approved the country partnership with Cameroon. It was therefore an opportunity to discuss how to be reassured on the effective implementation and the various stakes that concerns the development agenda of GBM”.
The eminent personalities equally dwelt on the mobilization of resources in favour of Cameroon with an important agenda on Electricity.
“The GBM has launched for the month of April, an electrification in Africa which shall give electricity to more than 300 million Africans come 2030.”
Most importantly, the cooperation seeks to make Cameroon benefit more.
“All the work done by Cameroon in this sector is very important and we need to make sure Cameroon gains more profit from our future engagements. We have a big program that of Natchigal where all our institutions are participating in completing the light project,” Abdou Salam said.
He also reiterated while talking to the press that he seized the opportunity to
listen to the problems and needs of Cameroon and how as an administrator he can support the country at best towards their father the board of directors of the World Bank Group.
He concluded by mentioning the annual assembly which shall take place in the month of October during which they shall discuss specific agendas such as finance, agriculture, development and reinforcement amongst many relating to Cameroon. His working visit ends tomorrow when he shall give a press conference in Douala on the results of his mission to Cameroon.
