The Mayor of the Kumba 1 Subdivisional Council with Headquarters at Njuki, has cautioned students to take their Education seriously and to desist from drugs consumption and other activities likely to tarnish their reputation. He also advised same to prepare seriously for the 2024/ 2025 academic year and to assist parents with their earning.
Mayor Eseme Moses Esembe was speaking on Thursday 15th August 2024, at the send- off ceremony of one hundred ( 100) students recruited for one month holiday job programme by the Kumba 1 Council… The programme ran from July 15th to August 15th.
During the ceremony Mayor Eseme Moses Esembe thanked the holiday Jobbers for contributing to cleaning the municipality and assisting in the offices.
He further cautioned same to take their studies seriously and to desist from drugs consumption and other activities likely to tarnish their reputation, and also to assist their parents with their earnings. They were further urged prepare seriously for the 2024/ 2025 academic year beginning September 9th.
The students, for their part, thanked the mayor and the staff of the Kumba 1 Council for accommodating them and for the moral and spiritual lessons received from same.
During their one-month holiday stint at the Kumba 1 Council, the students were also drilled on career choices, we have been informed.
The Thursday ceremony took place at the Kumba 1 Council hall.
