A Kumba-based Non Governmental Organization NGO, known as Humanity First Association of Cleaners Cameroon, HUFAC, has celebrated the 2024 Edition of World Humanitarian Day, with a donation of back-to-school materials to some school children the association offered a two-month free computer training.
The celebration that took place on 18 August at HUFAC LIDO street head office, was also attended by some sister associations such Women Development Driven Initiative, WODDI, and Beyond Counseling.
In his speech, the founder and president of HUFAC, Abi Henry, chronicled the history and activities of the World Humanitarian Day, and expressed his delight for hosting the 2024 edition in Kumba.
After enumerating some of the activities of HUFAC, since its birthing in 2019, Abi Henry stated he was following in the footsteps of those who had been in the humanity field before him.
He further thanked the sister organizations who showed up the celebration and appealed for synergy and a closing of ranks for meaningful and sustainable program for humanitarian work in Kumba.
He also extended a hand of appreciation to the parents who sent their children to acquire the two-month free computer classes.
Minette Abunaw of Women Development Driven Initiative,WODDI and Ngunih Victorine, of Beyond Counseling, later presented papers on the World Humanitarian Day, and what each group offers to the community.
The 2024 Edition of Humanity Day was celebrated under the theme “Act for Humanity “.
