The Member of Parliament for Nkambe Central,Hon Ngala Gerard Ndombang has been sworn in as member of the Cameroon Bar Association. He was amongst 649 others that took the oath in Douala in a strictly legal exercise at the Douala High Court.
He will have to serve as advocate in training alongside his pals before being formally sworn in as full-fledged Barrister.
During a gala at his honour, the legal mind told invitees his move to push for a representation in the bar has been a “childhood dream and vision”. Though he holds that the dream is fulfilled, he however is looking to use his new role in contributing his quota to improve Cameroon’s legal path.
The latter who doubles as CEO of Jerrysarl Co has been at the forefront of multiple advocacies, one of them being the quest for education. His track record as a “poor” school boy with stints at the Douala port where he “struggled to survive” amongst many others have been a motivation to the latter whose lone payback is to ensure children within the restive Northwest region gain access to education, without necessarily going through a similar pain.
Lately the Cameroon English Language Newspapers Association,CENPA,
proclaimed him as Most Patriotic and Best Community Mobilizer for 2023.
Ngah Khristian Mbigpo, CENPA President opined that the works done by the MP were visible on the ground. It goes without saying that his campaign for effective school going in Nkambe and Donga Mantung paid off thanks to regular visits he undertook to ensure that pupils and students often celebrate February 11th youth day and May 20th.
Noted for empowering school-going children, women and youth, the award came to crown the activities of Hon Ngala Gerard who has also been consistent in fostering local development, community engagement and community participation.
The CEO of Jerrysarl also doubles as one of few Anglophone contractors who has openly condemned separatist atrocities. In doing so, though not without challenges, he has stood true to himself despite the odds. He is not only saluted for this but for the story of a local school boy cum hero who has unlike the biblical prodigal son asked for possessions but seeks to gain same for his Donga Mantung division,North West region and Cameroon at large.
