Martin Savom, former Mayor of Bibey who is detained as one of the masterminds in the Martinez Zogo murder has also been roped into the Mbapou case involving the impersonation of Rear Admiral Joseph Fouda, Paul Biya’s advisor for several years.
The former mayor of Bibey appeared last Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the Military Tribunal, to answer charges in connection to offering protection to one of the fraudsters.
“The investigation at the military tribunal in the so-called Fake – Rear Admiral, Joseph FOUDA, special advisor to the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, has begun and seems to be progressing quickly. Let us recall that in this case, seven people have been charged with: ‘title usurpation; coaction fraud; complicity in coaction fraud; endangering state security; passive corruption; copying administrative documents; illegal possession of military items; illegal possession of mining products; counterfeit currency; rebellion; attempted money laundering; violation of orders.'”
Whistleblower Boris Bertolt attempts to explain the involvement of Savom who is a close aide to Secretary General, Ngoh Ngoh Ferdinand in The Mpapou case.
“For now, we do not know exactly why Martin SAVOM is expected at the military tribunal in connection with this case. However, we do know that the complaint by Rear Admiral was accompanied by a complaint from Jean GAKAM, the banker from Afriland First Bank who also claimed to be a victim of fraud. Except that Jean Ngakam is a friend of Martin SAVOM. The latter had promised him protection from high-ranking personalities of the presidency, including the First Lady Chantal Biya,” adds the Cameroonian journalist who went into exile in France.
Let us recall that on Monday, September 09, the former mayor of Bibey appeared before the judges of the Military Tribunal of Yaoundé, among the 17 people charged in the Martinez case. Savom pleaded not guilty, as did the other 16 defendants.
