A Buea-based educationist,Tambe Samuel Eta, has given the sum of two hundred thousand ( 200.000) frs to members of the Kumba-based physically challenged association known as Close The Gap to purchase some school materials to send their children to school.
Tambe Samuel Eta, who made this gesture to members of this group in Kumba on Saturday 12th October 2024, also became a full-fledged member of the group by paying all his annual dues.
Addressing members of the group, Tambe Samuel Eta stated that his gesture is predicated to a request from the President of Close The Gap, Ayah Takang Ayuk, whom he described as a friend and brother.
He further stated that education is the only tool capable of making a poor man’s child to become a minister, or for a child to install electricity, or install pipe-borne water in his village, or cause development of his, or her Village.
He further informed members of the group that though physically challenged they are all God’s children capable of great exploits like the able-bodied persons.
He further stated that by registering as a member of the group is proof that he is fully committed to assisting members of the group when the need arises.
Reacting to the financial donation, the president of Close The Gap, Ayah Takang Ayuk, thanked Tambe Samuel Eta for keeping his promise to assist them when he contacted him.
Takang Ayah Ayuk further informed Tambe Samuel Eta that the money would be used for the purpose intended by him.
After the departure of the donor, members of Close The Gap, deliberated and decided to buy books, mostly exercise books and other school materials, to distribute to school children whose parents are duly registered with the group .
