The Senior Divisional Officer of Meme Division Southwest Region of Cameroon, Ntou’ou Ndong Chamberlain, has expressed satisfaction over the rapid progress of several key City Council projects in Kumba.
He made this remark during his tour to some of these projects sites on Thursday 5th December 2024. The SDO was accompanied on his tour by municipal, administrative authorities, Divisional Delegates, contractors , monitoring and overseeing the execution of these projects.
Some of the project sites visited include the construction of the ultra modern City Council edifice, the Kumba City Council Grandstand, the ongoing World Bank Project at Cameroon street.
At each stop, the SDO marveled at the pace the construction work was taking place, especially during his last visit.
In his response to the SDO’S remarks, the City Mayor Gregory Ntemeyork Mewanu, thanked president Paul Biya for ensuring Kumba has always been included in critical development Projects in the country and also ensuring the workers and the contractors are also there.
He also highlighted some challenges faced during the construction regarding Cameroon Street, notably maturation of projects and the need to pay indemnities to those who had illegaly built on road leading to delays.
