The Meme Divisional Delegate of Tourism and Leisure with headquarters in Kumba, Meme Division Southwest Region of Cameroon, Zobo Awono Marlyse, has awarded certificates of recognition to some promoters of Tourism and Leisure in the division.
The Delegate of Tourism and Leisure for Meme awarded these certificates to promoters of Tourism and Leisure in Meme Division on the sidelines of the 2025 Budgetary session of the Kumba City Council that took place on Thursday 19th December 2024.
In her speech, Zobo Awono Marlyse stated that the award in its first edition is to encourage the various promoters of Tourism and Leisure in Meme Division
She further stated that prior to the award, the delegation carried out a census of all tourism and leisure establishments, held a sentizisation meeting on the law Governing leisure activities in Cameroon, held a working session at the Divisional Delegation, organised a workshop on the management of tourism and leisure activities in Meme, adding that these activities were aimed at ensuring that these establishments operate in conformity with the rules and regulations in force.
She further explained that the delegation used four criteria to evaluate the tourism and leisure establishments in Meme Division, adding that these criteria include quality of service and professionalism, hygiene and sanitation, good collaboration and regular submission of monthly statistics, and the promotion of tourism and leisure activities in the division.
She further appealed to proprietors of tourism and leisure establishments in Meme Division to put in more effort to promote internal tourism and leisure activities in the division.
Speaking later to the press, Zobo Awono Marlyse stated that the aim of the visit of the Delegation to promoters of Tourism and Leisure establishments is to encourage same to promote tourism and leisure in the division, to promote hygiene and sanitation and to uphold the standard of tourism and leisure activities as prescribed by the Cameroon Government , adding that the award of certificates to promoters of Tourism and Leisure in Meme Division will continue as long as her stay in Meme Division.
