Senator Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko, traditional ruler of Kumba, and Paramount ruler of the Bafaw, has communed with orphans in Kumba and also thrown a lavish Christmas party for same.
The colourful ceremony dubbed ” Christmas party” which took place at the court of the Nfon’s palace Kumba Town on Saturday 21st December 2024, brought together children drawn from some ten orphanages in Kumba.
In his keynote address, Senator Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko reiterated the importance of love and being loved, adding that the orphans are so loved and close to God’s heart.
Christmas is a day for children, reason the palace found it important to come commune with the orphans, Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko further stated.
“In the orphanage sometimes you feel disadvantaged but in every disadvantage there is an opportunity. It depends on how well you use this opportunity”, he further stated..
The Nfon also encouraged Meme elites not to abandon the orphans to their fate but to do more for them. At the end of his address, he handed assorted Christmas gifts to children from the various orphanages.
Lucas Mukete, a spokesperson for the beneficiaries, thanked the Kumba royal for always thinking of the orphans since he ascended the throne, adding that the Christmas gifts would go a long way to enable the children celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
He further prayed that God shower his blessings on Nfon’s family and members of the royal family.
At various stages of the celebration, the orphans exhibited their skills in Gospel music, traditional dance.
The Horizon observes that Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko has made it an annual tradition to commune and share a common meal with orphans and other vulnerable persons since he ascended the royal throne in March 2020.

Some Cameroonian bishops have had enough of Biya’s presidency. During his homily on December 29, the Bishop of Ngaoundéré, Emmanuel Abbo, delivered a powerful message to Cameroonian leaders in anticipation of the year 2025. He questioned the ability of the country’s authorities to put an end to the suffering endured by Cameroonians.
