Some opposition leaders like MRC’s Maurice Kamto, PCRN’s Cabral Libii, and The Now Movement’s Akere Muna and SDF’s Osih Joshua may be leading the pack for the conquest of political power, but the race they say, is not for the swift.
The polls have since shown them as frontrunners for the opposition, judging from their attractive manifestoes, but it is the voter that has the last word. He is biding his time, waiting for them to falter so that he can choose rightly.
With manoeuvres to disqualify Kamto and Cabral Libii, the hope of the opposition is now Akere Muna and SDF’s Osih Joshua. But given that the two failed to impress in the 2018 presidential elections, Cameroonians may just want to support a more dynamic candidate.
In search of someone to lead the change, the Cameroonian political landscape is poised for a seismic shift. Amidst the chaos and uncertainty, one party stands tall, ready to usher in a new era of transparency, accountability, and progress: the United Socialist Democratic Party (USDP). Its leader, the youthful Prince Michael Ngwese Ekosso may just be that joker in the pack for the opposition. Though the USDP has no elected official, its leader who represents the hope for the Cameroonian youth may just be endorsed as the single opposition candidate.
A party born of necessity
The USDP was founded on the principles of reengineering the political party system, freeing it from the stranglehold of corrupt elites and moneyed interests.
Its mission is to propagate inclusion, diversity, and transparency, ensuring that every Cameroonian has a voice and a stake in the country’s future.
A vision for a better Cameroon
The USDP’s vision is bold and ambitious: to consolidate Cameroon’s democracy, build a superpower economy, and establish just and resilient institutions.
Its manifesto is built around several core pillars which include: The Economy, Power Supply, lnfrastructure, Water, Education, Women and Girls, and Information & Communication Technology.
A Party of the People, by the People and for the people
The USDP is committed to empowering women, youths, and persons living with disabilities. Its leadership recognizes that these groups are the backbone of the Cameroonian society and deserves a seat at the table.
As the 2025/2026 elections approach, the USDP is poised to lead the change towards a brighter future for Cameroon and Cameroonians.
With its commitment to transparency, accountability, and progress, this party is the beacon of hope that Cameroonians have been waiting for. Join the movement and be part of shaping Cameroon’s destiny.
