A war of words has erupted between the SDF and the MRC with the former accusing the latter of plagiarizing its strategy and timeframe to end the war in the North West and South West regions.
The ire of the SDF was provoked by the circulation of a leaflet on the web by the Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon announcing the resolution of the Crisis in Noso in three months, a copycat of the SDF project presented on March 1 in Yaoundé.
On March 1, 2025 at the Yaoundé Sports Palace, Joshua Osih was triumphantly proclaimed the SDF candidate for the October 2025 presidential election in our country. The candidate of the Cameroonian Socialist Party then had as his compass for the conquest of Etoudi, an ambitious social project skillfully presented by Dr. Louis Marie Kakdeu, second national vice-president of the SDF.
In the wake of this, it was learned that John Fru Ndi’s successor at the head of the party announced that he would put an end to the violence in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon in just 100 days. ” No other political party knows the North-West and South-West better than we do. We know what is happening and we have consulted widely on the issue. We have spoken to all the parties in conflict. We are confident that in three months or a little more, we can put an end to the violence. That will put an end to the violence ,” he clarified.
Probably inspired by the SDF project, the MRC put out a leaflet on social networks with the title: 5 projects for national renaissance , one of which also announces the resolution of the Anglophone crisis in three months. Simple similarity or coincidence? An SDF executive emphasizes that this is not the only idea stolen by the MRC in their social project.
” There is also the form of the State, cooperation with Nigeria. The proof that they do not understand what is at stake is that we cannot withdraw from the EPAs. The Economic Partnership Agreements are a very good thing. That is what we are going to negotiate with Nigeria! It is about the renegotiation of the EPA agreements with the European Union. It is a specific case. I am waiting to see how they are going to resolve the Anglophone crisis in three months! You see? Populism has its limits. They insulted us by saying that we were proposers. Now they want to try their hand at proposals without knowing what is at stake. It is terrible, isn’t it? I hope they have learned their lesson and that they will resolutely enter the Republic ,” explains the SDF executive under anonymity.
