Colonel Enye ‘e Meka Manuel has been commissioned as the commander of the 21st Infantry Motorized Brigade. The installation of Col Enye’e Meka Manuel as commander of the 21st Infantry Motorized Brigade was carried out in strict military style at Bongo Square Buea in the presence of the Governor of the South West Region on Thursday 6th March 2025.
He was installed on behalf of the Minister of Defense by Colonel Eba Eba Benoit, who is the Commander of the Joint Military Region.
In his installation speech, Col. Eba Eba stated that apart from his sovereign mission, and instructions from the hierarchy, the new commander should ensure the security of the region, the population and their property.
Colonel Eba Eba Benoit also appealed to Colonel Enye’e Meka Manuel to work in close collaboration with the population and to show zero tolerance to deviant military officials.
The 55-year-old Colonel Enye’e Meka Manuel took over from Colonel Onambele Louis , who served in the same capacity for three years four months.
He is not new to the South West Region, having served in Kumba and other places in the region.
The installation of Colonel Enye’e Meka Manuel and the call for the strengthening of security in the region is coming at a time the Government claims the separatist threat has been eliminated .
