The activities of the 2nd edition of the South West Cultural Festival have been launched, The Horizon has been informed.
The activities were launched by members of the South West Chiefs’ Conference, SWECC, in a meeting that took place in Buea on Saturday 12th April 2025. The second edition of the South West Cultural Festival will take place from Friday 12th – 14 th December 2025, The Horizon has learnt.
The members of SWECC decided that the focus of this year’s event would be on cultural identity, consolidating peace and entrepreneurial consciousness.
The chiefs also resolved that the celebration would be open to everyone within and beyond.
The Horizon observes that last year, the first edition of the festival was held under the high patronage of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute, who was represented.
Last year’s event took place under the leadership of the then president of the South West Chiefs’ Conference, Chief Moses Obenofunde. This year’s celebration would take place under the coordination of the current SWECC president, Chief Mokube Audu.
This year’s festival will hold under the theme: “Cultural Identity and Consolidating peace and enterpreneurial consciousness.”
