The Tiko Council, Fako Division, South West Region of Cameroon, has promised to supervise and support the farming project of persons living with disabilities in Tiko.
Honourable Efite Andrew, the First Deputy Mayor of the Tiko Council, made this declaration on Thursday 10th April 2025, on a visit to the piece of land handed to the Community Based Association for Disabilities Empowerment, COBADE, by the CDC to cultivate maize.
The Horizon observes that the one-hectare land handed to COBADE by the CDC for the cultivation of maize is situated at Mile 7, along the Tiko-Douala highway.
In his speech, Hon Efite Andrew, who was accompanied by some staff of the. Tiko Council, stated that the council would supervise and support the farming project of persons living with disabilities and other activities in the municipality. We observe that COBADE is an inclusive group of persons living with disabilities in Tiko Subdivision.
Hon Efite Andrew further thanked members of the group for such a laudable initiative to empower and generate income for its members than to fold their arms waiting for manna from heaven.
In his reaction, the president of COBADE, John Abang, thanked the CDC and then the Tiko Council for always standing by them, adding that the piece of land handed by the CDC for maize cultivation would go a long way to financially empower members of COBADE and encourage same to desist from begging in the streets.
