President Paul Biya will need to disburse just 25 million FCFA for his candidacy application for the 2025 presidential election after South West youth, under the umbrella of YCPDM, raised 5 million at the weekend.

The money handed over by Hon. Malomba Esembe to the national organizing committee, was raised by the six divisions that make up the South West region. Hon Malomba Esembe, during the symbolic gesture reassured the head of state of the youths’ firm commitment in ensuring that he emerged victorious with another mandate to foster development in the South West region in particular and Cameroon as a whole.

Hon Malomba Esembe then called on the youths to support the head state’s candidacy in the upcoming elections, noting that he has been fostering peace, development amongst others in the past 40 years.

The event that held on Saturday, 26 th of April, 2025 , took place under the patronage of Peter Mafany Musonge, Head of the Permanent Delegation of the CPDM Central Committee for the Southwest

region, under the banner of “Youth Well Wishers and Supporters of President Paul Biya”.

Lauding the massive attendance at the event, the MP of Fako constituency, Hon Malomba Esembe, noted:  “ With the massive turnout of the population of the Southwest Region, you can see that the whole of Southwest Region, the young people, elderly everyone is behind the head of state. So we want to appreciate the population for coming out this massively to come and support the head of state’s candidacy for October 2025 as president of the republic for him to continue the leadership vision that he has for this nation.”

He furthermore assured the youths that the head of state has them at heart and is doing everything possible to involve the youths in decision making.

The Mayor of Limbe City Council, Paul Efome, for his part, added his voice to that of Hon Malomba, by calling on the youths to ensure the president of the republic attained his vision for nation by giving him another mandate while emphasizing that the choice of the head of state

comes with deep conviction. “ We know our choice is that which comes with deep conviction, “ he said.

The Southwest Youth Rally in support of the Head of State’s Candidacy in the upcoming election was graced with the presence of Minister Paul Tasong and the minister of Secondary Education, Prof Nalova Lyonga, who doubles as the Head of the Fako CPDM Permanent Divisional Delegation.

Minister Pauline Nalova Lyonga, while addressing the youths of the

Southwest region, called on them to seize this moment to shape their collective destiny, emphasizing that the time for action is now. She told the youths: “ The future of our region, nation rests in your hands the youths. Look around you, young people of the Southwest, look at the national wonders that define our identity and fuel our dreams. Let the majestic Mt Cameroon in

Fako Division, standing tall as a patron of strength and resilience inspire you to stand firm in your support for President Biya.”

The minister further warned the youths not to let anyone influence their decision by telling them that they are foolish. She noted:“ Be wary of those who seek to exploit your idealism, you are ideal, let no one exploit you, manipulate your passions and let no one use your energy for their own selfish political gain. I urge you to reject to the last energy all forms of

instrumentalization and manipulation. We have done a great deal of work on the South West region and many people are jealous of what you have been able to do. It is only you who can do it not another person. We are getting to the point when the rest of the world will recognize who we are, what kind of youths we are and let us not spoil it by throwing everything away. The

administration of the South West region has done a lot for us”.
