    *Nestlé Cameroon marks International Food Safety Day*

    Nestlé Cameroon’s factory in Douala-Bonabéri hosted a workshop on June 19, 2025, to commemorate International Food Safety Day, celebrated annually on June 7. The event brought together experts and stakeholders to discuss the importance of food safety and quality.

    *Commitment to Food Safety*

    The workshop highlighted Nestlé Cameroon’s commitment to providing safe and healthy food products to consumers. With over 400 internal checks conducted on each Maggi cube before it leaves the factory, Nestlé demonstrates its dedication to rigorous quality control measures.

    *Expert Insights*

    Three renowned experts led the workshop:

    – *Professor Blanche Étundi Sape*: Discussed the scientific foundations of food safety, emphasizing the importance of understanding why food should not harm consumers.

    – *Étienne Oussil*: Highlighted the role of food codes and regulations in ensuring food safety, governed by strict rules to protect consumers.

    – *Edith Nkemboh*: Shared insights into Nestlé’s food safety culture, showcasing internal practices that make the company a model in the industry.

    *Collective Responsibility*

    Aboubacar Coulibaly, General Administrator of Nestlé Cameroon, emphasized that food safety is both a collective and individual responsibility. He stressed the importance of employees being fully involved, respecting rules, remaining vigilant, and reporting any situation at risk.

    *Quality Control Measures*

    Nestlé’s quality management system includes :

    – *Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)*: Ensuring quality and food safety through standard operating procedures, people management, and equipment maintenance.

    – *Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)*: Identifying, evaluating, and controlling hazards that are significant for food safety.

    – *Regular Testing and Analysis*: Conducting rigorous testing and analysis of raw materials, ingredients, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.

    *Nestlé’s Commitment to Food Safety*

    Nestlé Cameroon is certified with FSSC 22000 V5.1, demonstrating its adherence to high safety and quality standards. The company prioritizes consumer health and well-being, ensuring that every product meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
