    (Business in Cameroon) –

Cameroon will build a strategic fuel storage depot at the port of Kribi, with capacity ranging from 250,000 to 300,000 metric tons, the state-run National Hydrocarbons Company (SNH) said on June 19. The project is valued at $200 million (CFA114 billion).

SNH will finance the initiative through project finance and has selected the RCC consortium, which has completed 35 similar projects, to handle construction. The fuel terminal aims to strengthen energy security and reinforce Cameroon’s industrial base in Central Africa.

The project is jointly led by SNH and its downstream subsidiary Tradex. To oversee development, the partners created CSTAR FARM Project Management LLC, a Dubai-based firm registered under Emirati law on April 25, 2025. CSTAR’s shareholders include Ariana Energy (49%), Tradex (31%), and SNH (20%). Ariana Energy is also part of the CSTAR group.

Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) studies are 80% complete and expected to finish by July 31, 2025.

CSTAR CEO Nathalie Moudiki described the Kribi depot as “historic infrastructure” that will position Cameroon as a key energy and industrial hub in the subregion.
